Lighthouse American Airlines Center Display Project Named 2010 Top Ten Outstanding LED Display Application Project

Shanghai, July 20, 2010 - World-leading LED display solutions provider Lighthouse Technologies Ltd. (Lighthouse) was among the winners announced at the recent “2010 Outstanding (Top Ten) LED Display Application Projects Contest” awards presentation ceremony held by Shanghai Committee of Science and Technology , China LED Research Centre and EXPO Group ,etc. Lighthouse won for its massive “American Airlines Center Display Project”. The project scale and the comprehensive display solution involved helped Lighthouse turn the American Airlines Center into one of the most technologically advanced sports facilities in the United States, an effort unanimously recognized by the panel of judges.

For this project, Lighthouse installed 25 LED screens of differing shapes, pixel pitches and functions at the American Airlines Center, covering an area of more than 8,700 square feet. As one of the top NBA facilities, the American Airlines Center is a combination of tradition and state-of-the-art technology. The newly installed Lighthouse screens have increased the video display capacity of the facility by 300 percent.

During the 2010 NBA All-star Weekend and several NHL games at the Center, fans thoroughly enjoyed the brilliant visual effects displayed by the Lighthouse screens. Brad Mayne, president of the Arena Center Operating Company, said, “I believe Lighthouse was the best choice for making this happen. The outstanding performance of Lighthouse screens enables every Dallas sports fan to enjoy the games like they’ve never enjoyed them before.”

The 2010 Outstanding (Top Ten) LED Display Application Projects Contest involved simultaneous demonstrations in magazines and on websites, followed by three elimination rounds and an evaluation conducted by a panel of experts. The final results were revealed at the Shanghai New International Expo Center on July 7.

The American Airlines Center project received the judges’ immediate attention. Guan Jizhen, contest judge and director-general of China Optics & Optoelectronics Manufactures Association LED Display Division, said, “The industry has witnessed Lighthouse’s rapid growth in recent years, especially in the most demanding European and North American markets. By overcoming the installation difficulties in the huge American Airlines Center Project, Lighthouse once again proved its strength and capability. Its outstanding performance makes Lighthouse a role model for other LED display businesses to follow.”
